A total of 3,218 debt restructuring petitions of private persons were filed with district courts in Finland from January to June 2026, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of petitions filed was about 490 or 18.0 % higher than in the stipulated period in the previous year.
Out of the debt restructuring petitions, 49.4 per cent were filed by men and 50.6 per cent by women.
In January-June period 2025, a total of 2,724 debt restructuring petitions of private persons were filed with district courts.
The number of petitions was 221 or 8.8 % higher than in the stipulated period of 2024.
