The City of Espoo is welcoming the new residents by sending greetings cards, said the city in a press release on Monday.
The postcards will be sent to all the households, who to Espoo in the first half of this year and the cards will be delivered by this month.
“It is important that you feel at home in your new community and city. Explore your new area. Maybe you could take a walk in a nearby forest with a neighbour. We also encourage you to use our city’s services. With this card, you can visit one of the five swimming pools in Espoo for free,” said Development Manager Marianne Julkunen, in charge of the development of resident involvement of Espoo.
In total, the city will send cards to nearly 7,500 addresses. The card is in Finnish, Swedish and English, with a short welcome message in Arabic, Chinese, Estonian, Russian, Somali and Ukrainian.
The city will also send the next cards in March to all those who have moved to Espoo during the last half of 2023.
